You know what struck me first about Apartamenty Nowe Centrum? The building itself – it’s this sleek, modern structure that somehow doesn’t clash with Łódź’s eclectic architectural mix. I mean, you’re right on Stefana Jaracza street, which honestly isn’t the prettiest stretch in the city, but once you’re inside, it’s a completely different world. The apartments here actually feel like apartments, not hotel rooms trying to pretend they’re something they’re not. Each unit has this spacious, lived-in quality with proper kitchens (not just a mini-fridge and microwave situation) and living areas where you can actually spread out your stuff without feeling cramped.

The location is pretty brilliant if you know Łódź at all – you’re in Śródmieście, so you can walk to Piotrkowska Street in about ten minutes, which saves you from dealing with the tram system if you’re just here for a few days. I actually stayed during one of those gray November weeks when the city gets moody and atmospheric, and being able to duck into Manufaktura mall when it started drizzling was clutch. The neighborhood has this interesting energy too – it’s not touristy at all, so you get these glimpses of actual daily life in Łódź. There’s a decent grocery store nearby (Żabka, naturally), and honestly, the whole area feels safe even when you’re wandering back late after exploring the city’s surprisingly good restaurant scene.

What really impressed me though was how quiet these apartments stay, despite being on a fairly busy street. The windows must be well-insulated because I barely heard any traffic noise, which is saying something in a Polish city center. The staff – well, you don’t interact with them much since it’s apartment-style, but check-in was smooth and they were helpful when I couldn’t figure out the TV remote (European cable systems, am I right?). I’d definitely come back, especially since the value is incredible for what you get. It’s one of those places where you feel like you’re getting insider access to the city rather than being stuck in some generic hotel bubble. Perfect if you want to experience Łódź like you actually live there, even if it’s just for a weekend.
