The apartment I stayed in had this lived-in comfort that most hotels completely miss. You’ve got proper kitchen space (not just a sad mini-fridge), decent Wi-Fi that doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and honestly, the bed was way more comfortable than I expected. The windows face the street, so you’ll hear some morning traffic, but it’s not the kind of noise that keeps you up – more like gentle urban white noise that reminds you you’re in a real city.

Here’s the thing about staying in Baluty – you’re getting authentic Łódź without the markup. There’s a fantastic little bakery maybe two blocks away that locals actually use (not some tourist trap), and getting to the main attractions is surprisingly easy once you figure out the tram system. I walked to the famous Piotrkowska Street a few times, took maybe 20 minutes, but honestly the trams are more fun if you’re not in a rush. The whole area has this understated charm that grows on you – tree-lined streets, mix of old and renovated buildings, people going about their actual lives. What really sold me on this place was the check-in experience. No stuffy front desk drama, just straightforward communication and someone who clearly knows the neighborhood well enough to give you real recommendations, not just the standard tourist handbook stuff. They pointed me toward a restaurant that I never would’ve found otherwise – one of those places where you’re the only non-Polish speaker but the food makes it totally worth the awkward ordering process. For the price point and that 8.5 rating, Apartamenty Lewa delivers exactly what it promises. It’s not trying to be something it’s not, which I actually found refreshing after staying in too many places that oversell and underdeliver.

  Apartament nowy, bardzo dobrze wyposażony. Dwie łazienki. Klimatyzacja w każdym pomieszczeniu. Lokalizacja w centrum miasta, w zasadzie nie było problemu z parkowaniem. W okolicy dużo barów i restauracji, sklepów. Polecam restaraucję włosko-japońską Bistro Serrani nad rzeką. Apartament oddalony o 6km od plaży w Shengijn.
  
  What could be improved: W zasadzie tylko małe uwagi. Nie było dużych płaskich talerzy, małych łyżeczek, kubków do herbaty, czajnika na wodę. Braki te nie wpływały jednak na pobyt, jednak można byłoby uzupełnić te rzeczy.

  Location worked well for us and convenient for car or public transport. Spacious apartment and well kept. Some instructions for the TV would be helpful, as we couldn't get it to work. Listing needs to be amended, as towels are not provided. With a few small tweaks it could be even better – the single beds are extremely hard and make a lot of noise when you are turning over, so it makes for a disrupted night's sleep.
