Honestly, when I first walked up to Apartament Patisserie by Good Time on Piotrkowska 120, I wasn’t sure what to expect – I mean, the name alone had me curious. But you know what? Sometimes the places with quirky names turn out to be the most memorable, and this little gem in Śródmieście definitely falls into that category.

The location is actually pretty perfect if you want to experience the real heart of Łódź. Piotrkowska Street is basically the city’s main artery – think pedestrian zones, street art, and that mix of restored tenements alongside modern touches that gives Polish cities their character. You’re literally walking distance from most of what matters downtown, and I loved how you could step outside and immediately feel connected to the local rhythm. The building itself has that classic Polish architecture thing going on, but what really caught my attention was how they’ve managed to blend the historical feel with some genuinely thoughtful modern touches inside.

What makes this place special – and I think this is why it’s pulling a 9.2 rating – is the attention to small details that actually matter when you’re trying to feel at home somewhere. The apartments (and yes, these are proper apartments, not just hotel rooms) have this lived-in quality that doesn’t feel sterile or overly corporate. I particularly appreciated the kitchen setup because, let’s be honest, sometimes you want to grab some local ingredients from the market and cook something simple rather than eating out every meal. The patisserie connection isn’t just a cute name either – there’s a genuine food culture vibe here that extends beyond just providing a place to sleep. The whole experience feels more like staying at a friend’s place who happens to have really good taste and knows how to make guests comfortable.

I’ll be straight with you though – this is a 3-star place, so don’t expect marble bathrooms or concierge service. But that’s kind of the point. What you get instead is authenticity and value that’s hard to find in more polished hotels. The staff actually seem to care about helping you navigate the city (they gave me some solid recommendations for evening spots that weren’t tourist traps), and the check-in process was refreshingly straightforward. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this part of Śródmieście – it’s an older neighborhood with narrow streets – but they’ll point you toward the best options nearby. The area gets lively in the evenings, especially on weekends, but it’s more of a pleasant urban buzz than disruptive noise. If you’re the type of traveler who values character over generic comfort, and you want to experience Łódź from a genuinely local perspective rather than from some sterile hotel bubble, this place delivers in ways that surprised me.

  location was great, It was very close to some lovely places.
  The Hotel is also working with a restaurant right in front of the hotel so when we went in for breakfast in the morning it wasn't just a makeshift meal/food made by hotel staff but it was really lovely made by restaurant staff.
  
  What could be improved: The floors were creaky. I would usually chalk it up to the ambience I admit but I don't know, its just something like that. I don't really have anything else to be unhappy about, it was a really nice place. I would recommend.
