I’ll be honest – when I first booked Apartament Ogrodowa, I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like just another apartment rental in Łódź. But you know what? Sometimes the best finds are the ones that surprise you completely. This place sits right on Ogrodowa Street in Śródmieście, and I mean *right* in the heart of everything that matters in this city. You’re basically a five-minute walk from Piotrkowska Street (which, if you don’t know Łódź, is where all the action happens), but somehow the apartment itself feels tucked away from all the weekend chaos.

The thing that struck me most was how thoughtfully put together everything was – and I’m someone who’s stayed in way too many “luxury” places that feel like they were decorated by a committee. Here, someone actually cared about the details. The kitchen had proper coffee (not those terrible instant packets), the shower pressure was fantastic (trust me, this matters more than you think when you’re exploring a city all day), and the bed was one of those rare apartment beds that doesn’t feel like a afterthought. I actually slept better here than I do at home, which never happens. The windows face the courtyard rather than the street, so even though you’re in the center of everything, it’s surprisingly quiet at night – well, except for the occasional Friday evening when people are heading out, but that’s just city life.

What really sold me on this place was the neighborhood itself. Sure, you’ve got easy access to all the tourist spots, but you’re also living like a local for a few days. There’s this little bakery two blocks down that opens at 6 AM (I’m not usually an early riser, but the smell of fresh bread sort of converted me), and honestly, some of the best pierogi I’ve had in Poland came from a tiny place just around the corner that I never would have found if I’d stayed in some generic hotel district. The tram connections are solid too – you can get to the train station in about fifteen minutes if you need to make day trips, or just hop around the city without dealing with parking headaches. I mean, the 9.7 rating makes total sense once you’ve actually stayed here. It’s not trying to be flashy or Instagram-perfect, it’s just really, really good at being exactly what you need when you want to experience Łódź properly.

  It was modern, spacious, clean and comfortable. The balcony view was awesome.
  
  What could be improved: The air con needed to be in the entire property. We had it only for the living area and it definitely was needed in the bedrooms. Even with the windows open there was no breeze or circulation. Maybe a suggestion of remote control wall fan would be a good idea for the future clients.
  The temperature was in the 30s the week we stayed. We did suffer in the heat and asked for a fan.

  Brand new apartment in the city centre. Manufaktura Shopping Centre is a 5-minute walk away.
  It is next to the main pedestrian street in Łódź.
  Accessibility by car is very good.
  Underground car parking offers security without having to worry about where to leave your car or pay for on-street parking.
  The landlady provided all the instructions on time and answered all the questions I had.

  Very pleasant and spacious apartment.
  Big and comfortable beds.
  Two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
  The place where the apartment is situated is quite busy, but windows noise isolation is excellent.

  Nice and communicative host. We got detailed description how to get into the building, even with photographs.

  There was not very pleasant smell in the kitchen – I suspect the water drain.

  Location was excellent – you are in heart of Lodz. Walking distance to Manufaktura and Piotrkowska st. Apartment is comfortable – has good aircon (which was needed as it was 30C+ when we stayed!). Beds are comfortable.
  
  What could be improved: For those travelling by car – in order to enter the garage you need to collect the keys first – which can be a challange if you are traveling on your own or have kids in the car with you – as that means you need to find parking nearby first, get to apartment, go back to car. We were lucky to travel as two adults with kids so my husband was able to pop out whilst we stopped on right by the apartment.
  
  Bedding itself is well used, wasn't ironed and almost felt like somebody could have used it before us and we didn't have a way of knowing that wasn't the case. I kind of would expect to have ironed sheets that smell of fresh laundry – that wasn't the case. Also they seem quite worn and tatty – would expect better for the price we paid.
  
  Also although this wasn't a fault of the host – whilst staying there I have fallen down the stairs in the communal area. Cleaner left the floors soaking wet and left no sign of wet floors (surely health and safety thing!!!) I ended up having to visit A&E in the process. Not ideal. I did message the host – who was apologetic but didn't offer anything in form of compensation – which I kind of felt would have been a nice touch.
  
  Overall – I would 100% stay again for convenience it offered.
