The kitchen’s got everything you need if you want to grab groceries from the Żabka down the street (there’s always a Żabka, isn’t there?), and honestly, after eating pierogi for three days straight, I was grateful to make myself some simple pasta. The Wi-Fi actually works well – I had video calls with no issues, which… well, anyone who’s traveled in Poland knows that’s not always a given.

What really won me over was the location. Zarzewska puts you in this authentic Łódź residential area where you hear kids playing in the courtyard in the afternoons and smell someone’s grandmother cooking dinner around 6 PM. It’s about a 15-minute walk to the main strip on Piotrkowska (trust me, you’ll end up there multiple times), but you’re far enough away that you’re not dealing with weekend party noise. The tram connections are solid too – there’s a stop maybe five minutes away that’ll get you pretty much anywhere you need to go in the city. I actually discovered this amazing milk bar called Bar Mleczny nearby that serves the most incredible kotlet schabowy for like 12 złoty, but that’s the kind of thing you stumble across when you’re staying in a real neighborhood instead of the city center.

The host was refreshingly straightforward during check-in – gave me the keys, showed me where everything was, and left me alone. No hovering, no lengthy explanations about amenities that don’t exist. Sometimes simple is better. The only minor thing I’d mention is that the building entrance can be a bit tricky to find at night (the numbering isn’t super clear from the street), but once you know where it is, you’re fine. And honestly, for an 8.7 rating, this place delivers exactly what it promises – a clean, comfortable base in Łódź that feels more like borrowing a friend’s apartment than staying in tourist accommodation. If you’re the type who wants to experience the city like someone who actually lives there rather than just passing through, this is your spot.
