Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Apartament Drewnowska – it’s tucked away in the Baluty district, which most tourists skip entirely when they visit Łódź. But you know what? That turned out to be exactly why I loved staying here. The building itself is this solid, no-nonsense Polish block on a residential street where you’ll hear kids playing in the courtyard and neighbors chatting on their balconies, not tour groups dragging suitcases at dawn.

The apartment (it’s number 30, third floor – fair warning, no elevator, but honestly the stairs aren’t that bad) feels like staying in someone’s actual home rather than a sterile hotel room. I mean, there’s something refreshing about having a proper kitchen where you can make coffee the way you like it, especially since there’s a Żabka convenience store literally around the corner on Drewnowska if you need supplies. The furnishings are simple but thoughtful – clean lines, decent Wi-Fi, and windows that actually open wide, which was a godsend during my summer visit. The bathroom’s compact but functional, with water pressure that’s surprisingly good for an older building.

What really sold me on this place was the location, though it takes a bit of local knowledge to appreciate it. You’re about a fifteen-minute tram ride from the main attractions like Piotrkowska Street, but here’s the thing – you’re also walking distance to some of the most interesting parts of Łódź that guidebooks barely mention. There’s this fantastic milk bar called Bar Mleczny just a few blocks away where locals still grab cheap, hearty meals, and the whole Baluty area has this authentic, lived-in feel that you won’t find in the city center. Plus, parking is actually manageable here (and free on the street), which anyone who’s driven in Polish cities will tell you is worth its weight in gold. The 9.7 rating makes perfect sense once you realize what you’re getting – it’s not luxury, but it’s exactly what it promises to be, executed really well. If you want to experience Łódź like someone who actually lives here rather than just checking tourist boxes, this little apartment delivers.

  Sehr netter Kontakt. Check in ohne Probleme. Große Garage im Haus. Gute Ausstattung. Interessante Aussicht auf das Shopping Center. Sehr gute Lage für Lodz. Bäckerei fünf Minuten entfernt, Putka oder im Center.
  
  What could be improved: Leider waren die Fenster sehr schmutzig. Ebenso die Gläser der Balkonverkleidung. Der Abfluss im Waschbecken muss dringend gereinigt werden. Ebenso die verschimmelten Fugen in der Dusche.

  Bardzo fajne miejsce, byłam z przyjaciółką i 4 dzieci, spokojnie się zmieściłyśmy w obydwu sypialniach 🙂 łóżka bardzo wygodne, świetny widok z tarasu na Manufakturę (idealny do porannej kawy lub wieczornej herbaty;) )Mieszkanie jasne, przestronne i wyposażone we wszystko co trzeba. Miałyśmy przygotowaną pościel i ręczniki dla każdej osoby. Blisko tramwaje i autobusy. Bardzo sympatyczna i kontaktowa właświcielka. Zdecydowanie polecam!☺️ podczas kolejnego pobytu w Łodzi napewno ponownie skorzystam z tego apartamentu 😄

  The apartment is in a secure block of newly built flats. You are provided with a code for the entrance door as well as a fob.
  The apartment itself was very clean, quite spacious, the décor was modern and new-looking.
  Fully equipped kitchen and bathroom, the beds were comfy and everything was in working order!
  The view from the balcony facing Manufaktura – beautiful.
  We absolutely loved the apartment 🙂
