I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Apartament Charlie on Sucha Street, I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like just another residential building in Łódź. But you know what? Sometimes the best finds are the ones hiding in plain sight. This 3-star spot has that 8.6 rating for good reason, and after spending a few nights there, I totally get why guests keep coming back.

The thing about staying on Sucha is that you’re actually in a pretty sweet spot – it’s this quiet residential street that feels authentically Polish, but you’re still walkable to the main action around Piotrkowska Street. I mean, you won’t have tourist crowds right outside your door, which honestly was refreshing after dealing with the busier parts of the city center. The apartment itself has that lived-in comfort that you just don’t get in cookie-cutter hotel rooms. Everything’s clean and functional, though don’t expect luxury finishes – it’s more like staying at a well-organized friend’s place who actually cares about their guests being comfortable.

What really won me over was the practical stuff that matters when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days. The kitchen setup is genuinely useful (I’m talking real plates, not paper ones), there’s decent water pressure in the shower, and the Wi-Fi actually works consistently – you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case. Parking was way easier than I expected too, especially compared to some places I’ve stayed in Polish cities where you’re circling blocks forever. The neighborhood gets pretty quiet after evening hours, which meant I could actually sleep without earplugs for once. During the day though, there’s enough local life happening that it feels authentic – you’ll hear neighbors chatting, kids playing, that sort of thing that reminds you you’re experiencing real Łódź, not some sanitized tourist bubble. If you’re the type who wants to feel like a temporary local rather than just another hotel guest, Charlie hits that sweet spot perfectly.

Travelers should reserve a hotel in Lodz at least two months ahead for major events like Camerimage Festival, ensuring the best rates and prime locations near cultural attractions.

  Bardzo dobry kontakt, klarowne informacje, wszystko działało i wszystko było zgodnie z opisem. Dziękuję i polecam innym.
  
  What could be improved: Apartament mieści się na pierwszym piętrze. Przy upałach trzeba otworzyć okno, a że okno jest nad wejściem do klatki, no to zdarzały się wycieczki maruderów a to o 2 w nocy, a to o 4. I bywało głośno. Nie winię jednak obiektu, lecz ludzi. Przy normalnych temperaturach czy zimą to pewnie w ogóle niezauważalny problem. Ogólnie bardzo polecam.

  Dobra lokalizacja. Przestronny, nowoczesny apartament w cichej okolicy. Niedaleko m.in.sklep spożywczy, "Metropolis", palmiarnia i Księży Młyn. Do centrum ok.12min. W sam raz na udany pobyt rodzinny 2+2.

  He inisisted to receive the payment for parking only via an international money transfer in PLN. He absolutely didn’t care to bother that the cost of such a transfer would 2x exceed the price of the parking itself. Not only that! He obviously enjoyed himself (!) rejecting all other payment forms, including cash. A very weird experience.

  Good location, very clean, equipped kitchen. Allowed to check-in 30 minutes earlier.
  
  What could be improved: 1)Water kettle was not working. I wrote message about this on Booking, and also called by phone, but there was no response from host.
  2) if you plan to use underground parking, for which you need to pay extra cost, take into account that entrance is 2.0 m high (and nobody warns you about this). We were unable to park there our car with a roof box, and it was not possible to return money paid for parking.
  3)if you need to work from home – this apartment is not your best choice. There is not a single chair in the apartment and no “normal” table.
