I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Apartament Apretura by Good Time on Piotrkowska, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the best surprises come in unassuming packages. This little gem sits right in the heart of Śródmieście, and I mean literally on Piotrkowska 120, which is basically Łódź’s main artery. You can’t get more central than this.

The thing about staying here is that you’re actually living like a local rather than just passing through. The apartment setup means you’ve got proper space to spread out – none of that cramped hotel room feeling where your suitcase becomes a permanent fixture on the floor. I was particularly impressed with how quiet it stays despite being right on the main drag. You’d think the street noise would be brutal, but honestly, once you’re inside, it’s surprisingly peaceful. The owners clearly know what they’re doing because that 9.2 rating didn’t come from nowhere. I’ve stayed at plenty of higher-starred places that couldn’t touch this level of attention to detail.

What really sold me, though, was the location’s practicality. You’re literally steps away from all the best cafés and restaurants that make Piotrkowska famous, but you’re also close enough to the smaller side streets where locals actually hang out. I found myself grabbing morning coffee from this tiny place just around the corner that I never would have discovered from a typical tourist hotel. Plus – and this matters more than people realize – the tram connections are right there. You can get anywhere in Łódź without dealing with the headache of driving through the city center. Parking in this area can be… well, let’s just say it’s an adventure you probably don’t want to have. The apartment setup also means you can actually cook if you want to save some money or just fancy a quiet night in with some local groceries. There’s something oddly satisfying about making your own breakfast while watching Piotrkowska wake up through the windows. It’s not luxury in the flashy sense, but it’s comfort in the way that actually matters when you’re traveling.
